Featured Recipe: Emerson Cookout Potatoes

Ingredients:

5 slices bacon
3 large-sized potatoes
Salt
Pepper
1 large onion
1/2 pound cheddar cheese
1 stick(4 ounces) butter or margarine

Directions:

Fry bacon in a skillet over low heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Crumble bacon into small pieces.

Peel potatoes, slice them thin, then put them on a large piece of foil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread bacon crumbs over potatoes. Peel the onion, cut into thin slices, and place them on the crumbs.

Cut cheese into small cubes and dot over onion slices. Cut butter into squares and cover the cheese with them. Wrap the foil around this potato mixture and seal the edges tightly. Cook over hot coals for 1 hour. Turn over several times while cooking.

Serves 4.

Nutritious and Delicious:

Cheddar cheese is a good source of vitamin A which provides healthy skin and hair.

Jenn's Sleuthworthy Recipe Investigation:

What is the mystery in the Black Key Mystery Patties? This is one mystery that should remain unsolved! The Leaning Chimney Cones should keep leaning right off the counter into the trash can! You might beware if Shorty Steele helped prepare the Shadow Ranch Barbecued Beans!

The Black Key Mystery Patties is another of the recipes in the cookbook that is not appetite pleasing! Green olives, celery, cranberry sauce, and lemons mixed in with ground beef?! Blech!

Leaning Chimney Cones are leaning on my bad side--another unpleasant recipe! Bologna + parsley + pimentos + radishes + chives + cottage cheese=Leaning Chimney Garbage!

Moonstone Castle Carrot Salad belongs locked up in the castle dungeon!

Overall Comments:

With the exceptions noted above, there are some tasty recipes in this section. I'd recommend Emerson Cookout Potatoes! Runners up for sounding pretty tasty are: Mirror Bay Triple Decker, Shadow Ranch Barbecued Beans, Whistling Bagpipes Crunchies, Whispering Statue Sherbet, Scarlet Slipper Raspberry Punch, and Imposter Tea.
